Francesca Valente, Curator of Festival delle Arti (Arts Festival), Todi :
“Nancy Genn is one of the most influential voices of the American post-war period, successfully melding western modernism and Asian aesthetics into a personal synthesis. A sequence of her handmade papers of great historical importance will be exhibited for the first time in Umbria, after having been shown, along with those of Robert Rauschenberg and Sam Francis, in major museums in the USA and Asia. Her works are included in the permanent collection of American and European museums such as MoMA, Los Angeles County Museum, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Palazzo Fortuny and Fondazione Cini. In 2019, she was exhibited at Ca’ Pesaro, after the most important retrospective dedicated to her artistic career at Palazzo Ferro Fini in Venice in 2018.”
